You may remember these sexy weirdos from a previous blogpost from their engagement shoot at the Barbican Centre here.
Fast forward to autumn, a few months later, when they held the most magical boho woodland wedding at Puzzlewood in the Forest of Dean, where one of the Star Wars was filmed. (can I call myself the George Lucas of wedding photography now?? #no.)
The wedding –
I get super pumped when my couples make it a priority to input their own twist into wedding traditions as the result is always a wedding day perfected to be absolutely unique to them + reflective of their personalities.
Ben and Megan are 2 amazing humans who are already full of character individually + together they have such complimentary awesome personalities, so the wedding was a total reflection of who they are, and representation of their love and devotion to their friends + families.
The morning of the wedding started off with some light storms ahead east Wales. During prep, Megan and her bridesmaids were checking their evil weather apps whilst sipping on champagne, praying to the cloud-gods to knock that rain away… We were all about to embark on a outdoor wedding ceremony in the middle of the Forest of Dean, with nothing to keep us dry but the thick moss and the tree tops. Whilst this scenario could be described as every bride’s worst nightmare, Megan honestly couldn’t care less if it poured down. She was exhaling so much happiness, infecting everyone with excitement as she was about marry her best friend + party with her favorite people in the world.
She wore her mother’s Jenny Packham dress which she recycled into a stunning two piece gown, and put on her beloved sk8-Hi Vans to brace the mud. Also, because she is badass AF she arrived at her ceremony flying on the back of a truck with her brother, before walking down the aisle.
Getting the legal bit sorted meant they could hold the ceremony outdoors in the middle of the most enchanted forest in the UK, and have one of their best friends officiate it which made everything even more fun, personal and emotional for everyone. Later, the wedding reception took place in a converted barn in Puzzlewood, decorated with beautiful woodland elements from the forest.
Ben + Megan
Ben and Megan have a ‘no frills’ relationship, and that’s exactly how their wedding was… I found myself holding my breath so many times throughout this wedding because it was just so MAGICAL, just like the two of them are. There’s no other ways to describe it. Everyone wants to be their best friend because their love is just this beautiful, romantic friendship + it has this magnetism that makes people around them want to get closer.
Ah, also, Meghan is the most AMAZING talented tattoo artist, and she is based in Gosport, UK! Check her out here!
