A styled shoot consists of wedding vendors and artists coming together to design a wedding of their dreams.
When talented, creative people, who are passionate about their work, are put together in a room, incredible things are created.
We come together to get inspired and BE inspired through each other’s work and passions.
I’m going to start by saying it is easy to feel like you are being swallowed whole by such a crowded and over saturated wedding industry. Specially in the UK, competition is BIG. But there are those who have too much time on their hands to criticize others’ work, and there are those who rise by lifting each other.
I was invited to photograph a styled shoot a couple of months ago by the lovely and inspiring wedding coordinator Ogechi Nwachuku from Event Vendors UK and Weddings by Monet.
When I received her email saying how much she admired my work, inviting me to create something together, I was absolutely flattered, and there were no other answer than yes, YES!
Ogechi and I met via skype conference with Judy from Amaaya Events on a Sunday morning to get to know each other, discuss ideas, and visions for our shoot.
On the 7th June, the wedding styled shoot took place at The Old Parish Rooms in Rayleigh, Essex. Built in 1863 as a school house and parish hall, The Old Parish Rooms is the ideal setting for weddings and has the-most-perfect light any photographer could ask for.
Our lovely bride, who looked a like a vision of an even more beautiful Kim Kardashian, wore a dream wedding dress made by the designer Sassi Holford, who has been making bride’s dreams over thirty years, with its handmade English couture wedding gowns.
Hands up to the Labelle UK and Her Defintion – our Hair and make up artists, who effortlessly made our bride look like a canvas in their hands, and created magic with the stunning Hair accessories provided by Bespoke Vintage Castle Website.
The exceptionally gifted floral designer Michael Hilbrown made the place look a like a magic secret garden inside its’ walls. I can’t get over how gorgeous his work is!

Vintage props and furniture provided by the lovely Amy from Anthology Vintage Hire whose furniture was so beautiful, I wanted to have it all for my own home!

Now the best part of a wedding styled shoot, everyone knows, is all the cake we get to eat afterwards! We were lucky to have our Cake and deserts made by Sally from SWT Creations Cake, whose cakes were equally delicious on the inside, as they were beautiful on the outside. Oh, and the stunning cutlery you see if from Adivahs Hire .
I mean, really, not a bad day in the office!
